Thanks for the comments. A couple days of warmth and
sunlight has been a perfect introduction for a new
bike. After a couple years on my trusty 250 it is amazing
to feel that engine pull you up a hill with great ease...
nice to know that even if not used, there is more "go juice".
WD, I got them down to 2700 out the door. I could have
pushed some more, but they are the local folks, working
hard, great service and always helpful. They are honest folks
- so I don't mind not going lower.
One of the things I'm getting used to, leave the gear shift
alone. On the 250 you dance through most of the gears real
soon after you begin to roll. On the Savage, get into 2nd
when in the city - - and leave it alone.
On the open road - a pleasure. When I stop and shut
'er off, I get that big "burp", people stop, they smile
and they come over to talk about the bike.
If I get ambitious this summer, I might take you up
on motoring south.
